The Onion, thankfully, couldn't pass up on Alex Rodriguez struggling against the Rangers in the ALCS and striking out to end the series.
↵↵↵"A-Rod came up big for us this entire series, all the way up until the last out," Rangers manager Ron Washington told reporters during a postgame press conference, saying that the Rangers would have had no chance of beating the New York Yankees without Rodriguez's remarkable performance at the plate. "It was a long time coming, but you have to give the guy credit. He was the Rangers' MVP, no question."

After hearing Yankees fans dismiss their impending loss by assuring that they would just take Cliff Lee from the Rangers this winter and therefore have plenty to pass them, I wanted to do an Onion-like post about how the Yankees will assure themselves of not having another problem with the Rangers by buying all of their players, but, alas, how do you top the classic Onion piece?
