2010 ALDS Saturday Night Update

We still won't know the Rangers ALDS foe until tomorrow. The Yankees won the first game of their double header against the Red Sox 6-5 in the 10th inning. Tampa Bay defeated Kansas City 4-0. This leaves the Yankees one up in the loss column on the Rays with two to play.

The scenarios are pretty simple for the American League.

If the Yankees lose their next two games, the Rays will be AL East champions.

↵

If the Rays win tomorrow and the Yankees lose either tonight or tomorrow, the Rays are the AL East champions.

↵

If the Yankees win both tonight and tomorrow, the Yankees are the AL East champions.

Texas will face the AL East champion in the first round of the playoffs and the Wild Card champion will head to Minnesota in the first round of the MLB Playoffs.
