ESPN.com has received almost 150,000 votes in their poll titled: "Which team do you want to win the World Series?" All but eight states are collectively rooting for the Rangers. California (45% Giants to 28% for the Rangers, not exactly an overwhelming number) and Oregon (37% to 30%) have voted for the San Francisco Giants. Pennsylvania and Delaware have voted overwhelmingly for the Philadelphia Phillies, at 63% and 64%, respectively. Curiously, Hawaii leans slightly toward the Phillies, 30% to Texas' 26%. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have voted Yankees, though New York votes Texas second (55% to 22%) and Connecticut is surprisingly close (44% to 29%).
The rest of the nation is rooting Rangers. The state of Texas has voted:
↵Rangers - 74%
Yankees - 11%
Phillies - 9%
Giants - 6%
Texas is strong throughout the Midwest, with numbers over 50% in most states, and in the South, with percentages in the high-40's everywhere but Florida, a traditional Yankees stronghold that still votes Texas (35% to 27%). New England is also behind the Rangers. Massachusets has voted at 46%, New Hampshire at 47% and Maine at 44%.
↵International voters have voted evenly but do favor the Rangers (30%) slightly over the Phillies (28%) and Yankees (24%).
