The Texas Longhorns (3-0) and the TCU Horned Frogs (2-0) maintain their strong standings in the USA Today Coaches Poll, after both teams enjoyed a victory this past weekend.
The Longhorns dominated Ole Miss, 66-31, and were rewarded for their efforts by jumping two spots to No. 10 in the coaches' poll. The Longhorns were ranked No. 12 in this week's AP Top 25. TCU, meanwhile, fell one spot to No. 16 in the coaches' poll after their problematic 20-6 win over the Kansas Jayhawks. The Horned Frogs also fell in the AP Top 25, to No. 17.
Alabama maintains its No. 1 ranking, with LSU holding on to No. 2 and leading to more speculation about another two-game playoff between the two teams. The big loser was USC, who fell from No. 3 all the way to No. 12 after their surprising loss to Stanford. Oregon slides up to that No. 3 spot, with Florida State (No. 4) and Oklahoma (No. 5) filling out the top five in the rankings.
