Texas Vs. Ole Miss 2012: Rebels Coach Depicted In 'Blind Side'

Texas Longhorns fans will see a new face across the sideline Saturday when the team plays the Ole Miss Rebels, but they might recognize the Rebels' new coach from somewhere else.

Hugh Freeze, who was hired in the offseason to replace the departed Houston Nutt at Ole Miss, was the high school coach of Michael Oher, the Baltimore Ravens' offensive lineman whose high school life was portrayed in the movie The Blind Side. A character was created to portray the part of Freeze in the film, but Freeze, the Ole Miss and former Arkansas State coach, has said it's been a boon in recruiting to be associated with the popular film.

"I'm not trying to separate myself from it because we use it and it's beneficial to us," Freeze said. "I want to add another chapter to it."

Saturday's kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. CT from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. Televised coverage can be found on ESPN and WatchESPN.

For the latest on the Longhorns, head over to Burnt Orange Nation and Barking Carnival.
