Texas Longhorns Fall Camp: David Ash, Case McCoy Battling It Out To Be Starting Quarterback

Texas Longhorns began fall camp this past week and it is widely speculated that David Ash is to be the starting quarterback, but that has not been confirmed. The challenger to the Ash for the starting spot is Case McCoy who split time last year with Ash.

In 2011, neither player played particularly well, but since then both players said they have matured and are more confident this time around as they believe they ready to take the reigns as the Texas starting quarterback.

Head coach Mack Brown is still waiting for one of the players to prove themselves, and is no rush to name a starter:

"When they make the decision for us, then we'll make it," Brown said. "I'm not panicked when it's done. The worst thing you can do is make a decision when it's not ready."

With the fall practices being closed to the public and the media there will be no first hand information about the quarterback challenge.
