Phil Steele Projects Texas To Fiesta Bowl, TCU To 'Insight' Bowl

Long considered the godfather of preseason college football guides, Phil Steele's bowl projections have been posted online, and, as expected, the local teams are well-represented. With all the talk about the new playoff system, you might have forgotten we have to deal with the BCS for a few more seasons.

The headliner is the University of Texas, projected to the Fiesta Bowl, where they would take on defending national champion Alabama. Steele has Texas as the Big 12 champion and Alabama as an at-large BCS team.

TCU is projected to go to the "Insight" Bowl, which is looking for a new bowl name. The Horned Frogs would take on Penn State. Steele has TCU as the No. 4 team in the Big 12, while Penn State is the No. 4/5 in the Big Ten.

Baylor is predicted to finish seventh in the Big 12 and take on Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. The SMU Mustangs could have a nice winter at the Hawaii Bowl against San Diego State.
