Big 12 Predictions: Texas Picked To Finish Third In Preseason Poll

In the second year under their re-tooled coaching staff, expectations are high for the Texas Longhorns, but not quite as high as they have been for most of Mack Brown's tenure in Austin.

Texas was picked to finish third by the media in their pre-season poll, which would be a marked improvement from their 13-12 record over the last two seasons.

However, it's still below Oklahoma, as the Sooners received 32 of 41 first-place votes to finish on top of the Big 12.

Coming behind them is West Virginia, who received 7 first-place votes after coming over from the Big East. TCU, meanwhile, has been picked to finish 5th in their first year in the conference.

Baylor, in their first year without RG3, is now considered a mid-tier program, checking in at No. 7.
