Dan Beebe Is Doing Something Relevant

No need to wonder who the next forward-thinking big name in college was going to be as it pertains to addressing issues that actually matter, such as sexual harassment claims and the inappropriate behavior that led to the Jerry Sandusky story.

Former Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe launching a business to help athletic departments as well as pro teams handle those situations. BMT Risk Management named for Beebe, lawyer Mike McCall and consultant Mark Thompson - is already working with the Houston Texans. They assess risk, train employees in handling it and facilitate reporting of wrongdoing. Beebe and McCall were in New York last week talking to the New York Jets and Yankees about possibly providing services, and they have contacted 17 universities, according to this report.

Of course it's good to see Beebe is staying busy, but more importantly is the service being provided that will hopefully help avoid a many uncomfortable and tragic situations in sports.
