Ricky Williams' Career To Go Up In... Bronze

Former Heisman winner and now officially retired NFL running back Ricky Williams will get the Nick Saban treatment at his alma mater this Spring. Let's clarify: Williams will be honored with an eight foot, 1,000 pound statue in his likeness, right next to a similar statue of former Texas running back and Heisman winner Earl Campbell. The statute will be unveiled at the Orange-White Game on April 1.

Williams left Texas in 1998 as the NCAA career rushing leader. He was taken as the No. 1 overall pick by the New Orleans Saints and embarked on a largely quiet pro career defined by normalcy and convention. He retired following the 2011 season after serving as a backup to Ray Rice in Baltimore.
