Texas Longhorns Football 2012: Spring Practice Begins This Week

The Texas Longhorns are shaking off the Winter blues by returning to the field for Spring practices, culminating in the Orange-White game April 1.

Miss football? It misses you, too! The Texas Longhorns will take the field starting Thursday afternoon for Spring practice, culminating in the Orange-White game on April 1 (2 p.m. CT, Longhorn Network). Two Longhorns practice sessions will be open to fans in March - Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3 (both start at 4 p.m. CT). Burnt Orange Nation chimed in on the loooong overdue (albiet momentary) return of college football:

At least on paper, the Longhorns have set the table to field one of the best squads in the nation. Coming off a great performance in the Holiday Bowl ignited an offseason focused on a grand prize. Coach Diaz only lost four starters but the 2-deep played significantly in 2011. And Diaz is looking to significantly expand the depth of his bruising blitz schemes. The next 5 weeks will provide ample opportunity to further evolve his defensive brand.
