According to most prognosticators, the No. 23 Texas Longhorns have an uphill battle ahead of them as they clash with the No. 13 Oregon State Beavers on Saturday in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
The Longhorns (8-4) are 3.5-point underdogs against a strong Beavers squad that fared better than most would have expected in a tough Pac-12 this year.
ESPN's number center -- which includes picks from NumberFire and Accuscore -- has the Beavers pegged to walk away with a win on Saturday. AccuScore has given Oregon State a 52 percent chance of winning, while NumberFire picks the Beavers to win and cover the spread.
NBC Sports' CollegeFootballTalk picks Oregon State (9-3) to win by a score of 27-21, and suggests that the Longhorns could have trouble generating offense against a Beavers defense that has held opponents to under 20 points per game in 2012.
Kickoff at the Alamo Dome is slated for 5:45 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on ESPN.
