Amidst the tumult at the top of the rankings, the Texas Longhorns have climbed two spots to grab the No. 18 spot in the most recent SB Nation Blogpoll.
The Longhorns bounced up two spaces on the strength of their 33-7 demolition of the Iowa St. Cyclones on Saturday. They'll look to defend that ranking Thursday night when they host TCU at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Following their upset 29-24 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies, the Alabama Crimson Tide tumbled to the No. 4 slot in the rankings from their top slot of a week before. Oregon, Kansas St. and Notre Dame all moved up one space apiece to claim the top three spots, respectively.
Other big droppers in the rankings included the Oregon St. Beavers, who fell three spots after a 27-23 loss to the Stanford Cardinal. The previously Louisville Cardinals plunged a whopping eight spots after the Syracuse Orange stunned Charlie Strong's squad 45-26 in the Carrier Dome.
