NCAA football rankings, Week 7: Texas, TCU slide down in Coaches Poll

Texas and TCU lost ground in the Coaches Poll this week while Texas A&M cracked the top 25 with their impressive win over Ole Miss.

The state of Texas retained three teams inside the Coaches Poll for Week 7 of the college football season, with the Texas Longhorns the highest-ranked of them all at No. 15 this week.

Texas fell six spots after their loss to No. 4 West Virginia on Saturday, 48-45, while South Carolina and Kansas State joined the Mountaineers in the top five this week alongside No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Oregon.

Texas A&M made the grade this week, jumping to No. 21 after missing the top 25 the week prior after sneaking past Ole Miss, 30-27, this weekend. As for TCU, they took a big tumble down the rankings after losing to Iowa State, 37-23, falling from No. 13 to No. 23 this week.
