The Texas Longhorns needed a touchdown in the closing seconds to get by the Big 12 cellar-dweller Kansas Jayhawks, but the win was not enough to put the Longhorns in this week's AP Poll.
Texas came in with 55 total votes, good for fourth best out of teams outside the poll.
The Big 12 as a whole, however, has four teams ranked once again, highlighted by the Kansas State Wildcats, who moved up to No.3 after beating the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who are now ranked 20th. Oklahoma lost to still-unbeaten Notre Dame to fall to No. 15 while West Virginia was idle this week and comes in at No. 23.
At the top, Alabama is still the unanimous No. 1 team while Oregon stays at No. 2. Florida lost to Georgia and drops to No. 8 while the Bulldogs take over the No. 7 spot. Rutgers fell out of the top 25 by suffering its first loss of the year to Kent State.
