Desperate to get back above .500 in Big 12 play, the Texas Longhorns will hit the field this Saturday to square off against a last-place Kansas Jayhawks team currently riding a six-game losing streak.
The Longhorns racked up 56 total points and 525 yards of total offense in a Week 8 win over Baylor, although Mack Brown's team once again struggled with regularity on the defensive side of the ball. After yielding 50 to the Bears, Texas has now given up at least 31 points to their opponent in five straight weeks, a scenario which could allow the ice-cold Jayhawks to actually get their offense going in conference play.
Outscored 148-43 over four Big 12 games in 2012, the Jayhawks were demolished in a 45-point loss to Oklahoma on Saturday, and continue to search for answers on both sides of the ball. Freshman quarterback Michael Cummings completed less than 50% of his passes and was picked off twice against the Sooners, but should once again be under center at home this weekend.
