Ishmail Wainright Recruitment: Baylor gets four-star Missouri forward

The Baylor Bears have landed the state of Missouri's No.1 recruit, Ishmail Wainwright, according to a report from The Dallas Morning News.

Wainwright, a four-star recruit according to ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports, made a verbal commitment to Baylor, choosing the Bears over Ohio State, St. Johns and Texas. The small forward was also ranked as the No. 26 athlete in ESPNU's Top-100 players of the 2013 class.

According to an ESPN report, one of the main reasons Wainwright committed to Baylor was his faith. He cited the Bible as something that fueled his decision to join the Bears, as he told ESPN, "Psalm 37:23: 'The steps of a good man are ordered by The Lord and he delighteth in his way,'" said Wainwright. "Also Proverbs 3:5 and 6: 'Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.' He directed me."

Wainwright has been lauded for his court vision, ability to run the floor, finish and create shots for himself and others while playing for Montrose Christian High School.
