The first three* rounds of the 2011 NCAA Tournament are in the books, and sadly for Texas Longhorns fans, the Longhorns' 2011 season is in the books as well. Texas did appear to get jobbed in with the five-second call, which doesn't exactly help ease the pain any. Still, there's plenty of good basketball ahead in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. And there's still Gus Johnson, too.
An updated look at each region will come after the jump, as well as television times and announcing teams for each game as we head closer to the Final Four.
The West region, where Texas was ousted from, has top-seeded Duke taking on the fifth-seeded Arizona Wildcats and the Connecticut Huskies taking on the San Diego State Aztecs. No major upsets here, with the top three seeds advancing to the Sweet 16 as well as the fifth seeded Wildcats.
The East region is nearly true to seeding as well, with Ohio State taking on fifth-seeded Kentucky in the Sweet 16. The second-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels are taking on the 11-seed Marquette, who ousted Syracuse on Sunday night.
Things are a little wheels-off in the Southeast region, but not too bad. Butler upset top-seeded Pittsburgh while the second, third and fourth seeds in Florida, BYU and Wisconsin all advanced.
NCAA chaos ensued in the Southwest region, though, with Kansas being the only single digit seed to advance. 10th seeded Florida State, 11th seeded VCU and 12th seeded Richmond all advanced to the Sweet 16, essentially allowing Kansas to sleepwalk to the Final Four.
