Jay Bilas Looks At The Texas Longhorns' Chances In West Region

Bilas says that Texas is mis-seeded as a four seed, that they really should be a two seed. He predicts that Texas will struggle against Oakland in the first round, but if they can survive the opener, they have a real shot at knocking off Duke and making the Elite Eight.

He’s certainly right about the seeding. Texas should have been a three seed at worst by any metric. While it’s easy to understand how Texas could be dangerous in a vacuum – they have defensive ability, shooters and ball handlers – the matchup with Duke would be really tough for them. Given the tough first round matchup with Oakland and maybe the worst matchup for Texas in the tournament in Duke as a potential third rounder, it’s pretty hard to seem them in the Elite Eight.
