2011 Bowl Projections, Week 11: Texas Slotted For Cotton Bowl

Baylor, TCU, Texas and SMU are all expected to go bowling this year.

The Texas Longhorns are moving up the bowl pecking order and with the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma St. Cowboys looking to be heading to a BCS bowl game it will possibly put Texas in a meaningful January bowl game, assuming of course they can keep winning.

In fact with two Big 12 teams expected to got to a BCS bowl game, it will move up other Big 12 teams into a better bowl game. The Baylor Bears have been struggling some after their ascent into the ranking however they still have to become bowl eligible, and they still have two ranked teams left on the schedule. Even with that Baylor is still exptected to go to a lower tier Big 12 bowl game.

The TCU Horned Frogs are still on pace to finish as the Mountain West runner-up, but take the top bowl spot since the Boise St. Broncos are projected to make a BCS bowl game.

The SMU Mustangs became bowl eligible as they defeated the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday,

Here are the bowl projections for SMU, Baylor, Texas and TCU:

MAACO Las Vegas Bowl, Dec. 22, 2011

TCU vs. UCLA

Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl, Dec. 28, 2011

Baylor vs. Washington

Ticket City Bowl, Jan. 2, 2012
