What a difference a quarter can make. After a first quarter that featured field goals from both sides, the Longhorns implemented their power running game and scored four second quarter rushing touchdowns as Texas leads Texas Tech 31-6 at the half in Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas.
The Longhorns have amassed 237 rushing yards in the first half and a new rushing threat has emerged out of Austin. Joe Bergeron, who had a strong performance last week versus Kansas, has continued to excel versus the Red Raiders as his 113 yards has helped the Longhorns keep possession and drive the ball down the field.
Sometimes the stats can be deceiving, for Texas Tech's Seth Doege this is certainly the case. Doege has thrown for 220 yards passing for 23/31 passing. However, the Red Raiders have been unable to score in the red zone and sustain drives.
Texas will receive the ball in the second half as they look to become bowl eligible with their sixth win on the season.
