Texas Tech opened up the game versus No. 21 Texas with a 16-play, 71-yard scoring drive that took up over seven minutes of clock in the opening quarter. Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, that lengthy scoring drive only resulted into a 29-yard field goal by Donnie Carona.
On the next drive Texas responded with a 7-play, 29-yard scoring drive, highlighted by a nice pitch and catch from Texas QB David Ash to Mike Davis over the middle for 24 yards. A 48-yard field goal by Justin Tucker tied the game up at 3-3 for the Longhorns.
Texas Tech signal caller Seth Doege is 12-15 passing for 88 yards, and David Ash has ran the ball twice for the Longhorns for 43 yards. Texas will have the ball in the second quarter.
