Texas A&M grabbed an early advantage in what could be the last match up between the Aggies and the Texas Longhorns in the near future. A&M scored on two of its first three possessions and leads 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.
In the early going, it is the Texas A&M defense that is making a statement forcing the Longhorns into five consecutive three and outs to start the game. Case McCoy is 3 for 6 passing the ball for 14 yards.
The Aggies cashed in early with a 6 play, 57 yard drive that was capped off by a Ryan Tannehill seven yard scoring pass to running back Ben Malena giving A&M an early 7-0 lead. Malena got the start in the game as normal starting running back Cyrus Gray is out with an injury.
Randy Bullock added a 49 yard field goal on Texas A&M's third possession to extend the lead to 10-0.
