The Texas Longhorns (1-0) take on the Rhode Island Rams (0-1) Tuesday at 3pm CT at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN and will be called by Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy. The Longhorns are coming off a 82-46 victory over Boston University last Sunday to open up their 2011-2012 season. The Longhorns used their defense to stifle the Boston offensive attack holding them to shooting 29.8% from the field, including 4-25 (.160) from the three-point range.
This Rams are coming off a 92-90 overtime loss to George Mason last Friday night. Jamal Wilson scored a career-high 38 points in the loss that opened the 2011-2012 season for the Rams.
The Longhorns and Rams will meet for the sixth time and first since 1996 with the Longhorns having a 4-1 all-time series lead.
