Mack Brown Has Hired His Defensive Coordinator - Manny Diaz

The University Of Texas has officially replaced Will Muschamp with former Mississippi State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. Diaz spent just one year overseeing MSU's defense, but he improved the unit by about 50 spots nationally. Here's a video from last summer where Diaz provides an impromptu interview and shares his theory that "you can't be a great defense in a casual manner."

To summarize recent UT coaching ins and outs:

↵

Diaz is the new DC.
Jeff "Mad Dog" Madden is apparently out as strength and conditioning coach.
Bo Davis comes over from Alabama as DT coach.
Darrell Wyatt comes from Kansas as WR coach.

↵

Mack Brown is still searching for his offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Word in Austin has Wisconsin OC Paul Chryst the frontrunner and that he could bring his OL coach Bob Bostad, but Chryst was offered the OC job Monday and still hasn't accepted it, since he is up for the Pittsburgh head coaching position.

Stay tuned to Burnt Orange Nation for the latest on the remaining positions.
