The TCU Horned Frogs have jumped out to a 14-0 lead over the SMU Mustangs after one complete quarter on a wet Dallas night.
Both TCU scores have come off SMU turnovers, as the Mustangs seem to be having a harder time handling the wind and rain than are the Frogs. The first came midway through the quarter when SMU running back Zach Line fumbled at midfield. Five plays later, Casey Pachall connected with LaDarius Brown for a ten-yard touchdown pass.
Later in the quarter, Mustangs quarterback Garrett Gilbert threw an interception near midfield. The TCU return and an SMU personal foul set up TCU at the eight yard line. Pachall threw his second touchdown pass of the game to Matthew Tucker for the 14-0 lead.
Gilbert has struggled mightily for SMU, posting a passing line of 1-8 for -1 yards and one interception through one quarter. TCU's Tucker has rushed nine times for 41 yards.
