It's not often that a team wins by more than 50 points and then loses by more than 40 one week later, but the SMU Mustangs managed to accomplish that feat by beating up on Stephen F. Austin before becoming a punching bag for Texas A&M.
Now they're big underdogs against the No. 15 TCU Horned Frogs who are undefeated and have yet to win a game by fewer than two scores.
If the Mustangs have any hope to pull off the upset, they'll have to slow down junior quarterback Casey Pachall who leads the nation in QB rating and yards per attempt. Through three games, Pachall has completed 54-of-71 passes for 841 yards with eight touchdowns and just one interception.
SMU will need a better performance from Garrett Gilbert, the transfer from Texas that has completed just 52.8 percent of his passes and has thrown four interceptions compared to just three touchdowns.
