2012 NFL Supplemental Draft: Josh Gordon Expected To Be Top Pick

Former Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon, who left the team following the 2010 season after a drug violation, enrolled at Utah and never played, will almost certainly be the top if not only pick in Thursday's NFL Supplemental Draft. The Houston native has seen a lot of attention from NFL teams, including the Texans and Dallas Cowboys, both of whom need receiver depth.

SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber predicts Gordon will go in the fifth round to Seattle, and will be the only pick on Thursday:

What catches your eye about Gordon right off the bat, besides the breathless proclamations of his status as the second coming of Calvin Johnson, is his size. Standing 6'3 and weighing 225 pounds, his body type matches up perfectly with what teams perceive as typical of a top receiver.

Remember, any team that takes Gordon gives up a corresponding pick next April, so expect a decent game of chicken to begin for those clubs seriously interested, and starting in the third round.
