TCU Lands Fifth Commit In Tight End Bryson Burtnett

The TCU Horned Frogs picked up their fifth verbal commit by landing 6-foot-5, 225-pound Springtown (Texas) tight end Bryson Burtnett. Burtnett attended a TCU camp where he starred where he caught everything that came his way and abused the defensive backs.

The TCU coaches loved his hands and foot work, but they needed a few days to evaluate before an offers was made. Once the offer was made to Burtnett he accepted on the spot. Burtnett had offers from Texas State and Rice, plus high interset from Oklahoma State, Houston and Texas A&M.

He made the decision right away because of the location and education:

"First off, it's close to home and I've got a very supportive family who always wants to come to all the games and be a part of everything. And right here on our back porch it makes it easy," he said.

"And you can get a top notch education from TCU and if you want to have a handful of rings by the time you leave that place, that's the place that you need to go."

Burtnett is a versatile player who played defensive end in high school where he had three sacks, two interceptions and recorded 32 tackles. He also was a long snapper and could play the position alongside being a tight end for TCU.
