TCU vs. West Virginia score update: Horned Frogs cut Mountaineers lead to 24-21

The TCU Horned Frogs closed the gap in the third quarter and now enter the fourth quarter with only a 24-21 deficit as they look to upset the No. 21 West Virginia Mountaineers.

After earning a seven-point lead in the first half, the Mountaineers extended their lead to 10 with a 52-yard field goal by Tyler Bitancurt set up by a fumble by TCU running back Matthew Tucker. However, the Horned Frogs cut the lead back to three as a disastrous attempt to punt by West Virginia resulted in a fumble recovered by Dominic Merka and returned for a 15-yard touchdown.

TCU threatened to score again as they drove in to the red zone, but Trevone Boykin made a crucial error and threw an interception to linebacker Isaiah Bruce in the end zone. On the subsequent drive in to West Virginia territory, the Horned Frogs converted a crucial fourth down to keep the drive alive.

That drive will continue in the fourth quarter as TCU will have a first down on 24-yard line of the Mountaineers.
