TCU vs. West Virginia score update: Mountaineers lead Horned Frogs at halftime, 21-14

The West Virginia Mountaineers hold a 21-14 halftime lead over the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 conference action in Morgantown, W.Va.

TCU punt returner Skye Dawson fumbled a punt at the Horned Frogs' nine-yard line late in the half, which allowed West Virginia to score the go-ahead touchdown on a one-yard run by Shawne Alston. Prior to that, the teams had exchanged blows, with TCU getting on the board first on a two-yard scoring run by Matthew Tucker.

Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin completed a 31-yard touchdown pass to Josh Boyce in between scoring throws by Mountaineers' quarterback Geno Smith, which made it a 14-14 game before the muffed punt. Boykin completed seven of 10 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in the half, while Smith was 19 for 29 for 175 yards and two scores.

West Virginia had a chance to tack on points before the half ended, but placekicker Tyler Bitancurt narrowly missed a 50-yard field goal attempt as time expired, keeping the 21-14 score intact.
