Kansas State vs. TCU 2012: Offense to blame for TCU's loss to Kansas State

The TCU Horned Frogs came into Saturday's game against Kansas State with a chance to shake things up in the college football world. A win over the undefeated Wildcats would have meant two unbeatens going down on the same day, making the National Championship picture even more unclear.

Instead, the offense faltered, managing just ten points and the Horned Frogs fell to Kansas State, 23-10. Our TCU blog, Frogs O War, broke down the offense's issues after the game:

The TCU offense never got clicking, as apart from Matthew Tucker on the ground (good to have you back big man) the Frogs were not able to make anything happen with consistency. Trevone Boykin was put on his back six times, went out with an injury when he had finally been clicking, and threw a terrible pick just before the half. Finally in the absolute dregs of garbage time Brandon Carter beasts into the end zone to make the score look more respectable than it actually was.

But even though TCU managed just 10 points, all was not lost on this game. After all, Kansas State is one of the best teams in the country, the Horned Frogs are still bowl elegible and at least the defense showed up to play. In fact, Frogs O War even pointed out that for the future, this team has the potential to field a "dominant" defense with much of its core returning.

So, even with the loss, the future is still bright for TCU. The Horned Frogs now have a week off to get better before finishing out the season against two ranked opponents, Texas and Oklahoma.
