Suspended TCU Horned Frogs starting quarterback Casey Pachall was initially going to suit up for Saturday's game against the Iowa State Cyclones. However, head coach Gary Patterson decided against the move on Friday morning, because he thought Pachall could end up being a distraction to his team dressed and on the sidelines.
Patterson initially wanted Pachall out there with his team on Saturday so that Pachall couldn't hide and would be with his team and give them support.
Pachall is suspended indefinitely after being arrested on a DWI this past week. Patterson said he wouldn't decide the length of the suspension until after Saturday's game.
Starting in Pachall's place is freshman Trevone Boykin who will be making his first career start this weekend. Saturday's game is also the Horned Frogs home opener against a Big 12 team.
