Casey Pachall suspension could last all season, says Gary Patterson

TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Casey Pachall could be suspended for the remainder of the 2012 season, according to comments made by head coach Gary Patterson on Sirius XM College Sports Nation.

Via Brett McMurphy of ESPN:

The junior signal-caller for the No. 15 Horned Frogs was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Wednesday night. That DWI came a few months after Pachall's admission of a failed drug test and recent cocaine and ecstasy use.

Patterson issued a brief statement on Wednesday explaining that while he's responsible for winning football games, hes also responsible for helping his players with their lives.

TCU assistant athletics director of media relations Mark Cohen said there will be no further comment or media availability from the university.

Redshirt freshman Trevone Boykin is expected to take over at quarterback for the Frogs. In limited action in 2012, he's thrown for 79 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-10 passing, as well as 122 yards rushing on 12 carries.

TCU hosts Iowa State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
