The first quarter belonged to the TCU Horned Frogs, but after that it was all Oklahoma State as they scored 36 unanswered points after falling into a 14-0 hole.
In the first quarter, Wes Lunt threw an interception to TCU's Elisha Olabode that was returned for a touchdown. The Horned Frogs continued the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown from Jarrett Boykin to LaDarius Brown that gave TCU a 14-0 lead.
The Cowboys chipped away in the remainder of the first half with three field goals from Quinn Sharp before taking over with two touchdowns in the third quarter. Jeremy Smith ran in from 1 yard before Lunt completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Moore six minutes later to give OK State a 23-14 lead.
With his fourth and fifth successful field goals of the game, Sharp extended the lead to 29-14 in the fourth quarter. With just 1:22 remaining, the Cowboys added one final touchdown as Joseph Randle rushed in from 1 yard out.
Box Score Hero: It always feels weird to pick a kicker for any type of accolade, but Sharp was really strong for the Cowboys, nailing 5-of-5 field goal attempts and 3-of-3 extra points. He also made an impact as a punter, pinning the Horned Frogs deep with three punts that landed inside the 20. His value was further highlighted by the struggles of TCU's Jaden Oberkrom, who missed each of his two field goal attempts.
Rankings Ramifications: Neither team was ranked, but both received votes in the most recent AP Poll. With the win, the Cowboys may have the opportunity to sneak into the bottom of the rankings.
But Did They Cover? OK St. was favored by 7 points and managed to cover with a 12-point margin of victory.
Next Week's Schedule: TCU will next travel to face No. 19 West Virginia while Oklahoma State will travel to face the No. 3 Kansas State Wildcats.
