Texas Tech vs. TCU score update: Horned Frogs take early lead in battle of ranked teams

The No. 23 TCU Horned Frogs lead the No. 17 Texas Tech Red Raiders, 10-7, after the first quarter of their Big 12 Conference game on Saturday in Fort Worth, TX.

The Horned Frogs struck first with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Trevone Boykin to Skye Dawson early in the quarter. The Red Raiders answered with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Seth Doege to Eric Ward to tie the game.

The Horned Frogs have dominated time of possession so far as they've maintained the ball for 8:49 of the first quarter. The Red Raiders have zero rushing yards on four carries compared to the Horned Frogs' 82 yards led by Aundre Dean and B.J. Catalon.

Both teams come into the game with identical records of 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12. This is a big test for both teams as the Red Raiders look to prove their status as a top 20 team and the Horned Frogs looked to continue their strong start to their first season in the Big 12. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2006.
