Both Texas Tech and TCU won impressively last week.
Facing each other Saturday in Fort Worth, they'll likely need a similar effort to achieve victory.
The BCS standings opened with the Red Raiders (5-1, 2-1 Big 12) ranked 17th, and TCU (5-1, 2-1 Big 12) at 23rd. Texas Tech blasted its way into the top 25 on the speed of a 49-14 whipping of then-No. 5 ranked West Virginia in Week 7. The Horned Frogs knocked off in-state rival Baylor 49-21.
The highlight of this matchup is Tech's offense (40.7 points per game) versus TCU's defense (14.5 points per game).
Red Raiders quarterback Seth Doege had a career performance against the Mountaineers, throwing for 499 yards and six touchdowns.
The Frogs are paced by Trevone Boykin, who's led TCU to two straight wins since the suspension of quarterback Casey Pachall.
The Red Raiders are two-point road favorites in the game, which is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on ABC.
