TCU takes aim for their third consecutive win on Saturday, as they play host to the Portland State Vikings.
The Horned Frogs were upset on September 2nd, losing in an instant classic game to the Baylor Bears, 50-48. Since then, TCU has rattled off two consecutive wins over Air Force and Louisiana-Monroe, winning 35-19 over Air Force and 38-17 over Louisiana-Monroe.
Despite the first week loss to Baylor, the Horned Frogs remain in both the AP and USA Today Coaches polls. TCU is ranked No. 20 in both sets of polls. A win on Saturday over Portland State isn't going to inspire voters to push TCU up the rankings, but, it's still a game that the Horned Frogs must win.
For Portland State, TCU is the only ranked opponent on their schedule. The Vikings, who play in the Big Sky conference, are 2-0 on the young season, with wins over Southern Oregon and Northern Arizona. Both of Portland State's wins came at home, so not only is TCU the only ranked opponent on their schedule, but this game represents Portland State's first road game of the season as well.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CDT, from Amon Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.
