Andy Dalton Has Excellent Pro Day; Cowboys, Patriots Want Private Workouts

TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Andy Dalton participated in TCU's pro day earlier this week and was extremely sharp. According to Adam Caplan, Dalton completed 49 of 52 passes, with two of the incomplete passes being drops.

Dalton currently has private workouts scheduled with the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns. It appears that the Dallas Cowboys have told Dalton that they'd like to host a private workout for him as well. Of course, the Patriots have the reigning MVP Tom Brady at quarterback, but behind him is Brian Hoyer, who makes me nervous even in mopup time. The Browns could potentially be a good fit for Dalton with a west-coast offense being implemented in Cleveland.

The San Francisco 49ers have also shown interest in Dalton. Newly hired head coach Jim Harbaugh attended TCU's pro day, something he did not do for quarterbacks Ryan Mallett or Cam Newton.

Dalton is projected to be a second or third round draft choice, though with his recent successful pro day, he may have secured himself as a second-round draft pick.
