One of the fastest risers in the past few months on 2011 NFL Draft boards has been TCU quarterback Andy Dalton. Mike Mayock in particular took a liking to Dalton earlier on in the offseason, and Dalton is now projected as around a second-round draft pick.
↵Dalton called in on Galloway & Co. for ESPN Radio Dallas to give some of his thoughts about the 2011 NFL Combine. Among the highlights, Dalton said that he didn't have any more or less "butterflies" in his stomach prior to headed out to the combine than he did prior to the Rose Bowl.
Dalton said that he's been working on his footwork as well as play-action plays and getting faster in preparation for the combine. This is somewhat logical, though, since the NFL plays at a faster pace than the NCAA does.
↵Dalton also goes on to take a bit of a swipe at Cam Newton, as he was asked if he sees himself as an entertainer and an icon, which made Dalton burst out laughing and repeating, "Not my words."
↵The interview lasts about ten minutes and it's worth a listen if you're a TCU or Andy Dalton fan - or if you just want to hear how a successful college quarterback prepares for the combine and the draft.
