TCU's Andy Dalton Rated As Fifth Best QB In 2011 NFL Draft

NFL Network's Mike Mayock updated his draft rankings over the weekend, and some familiar faces in Texas can be found throughout Mayock's lists

Andy Dalton of TCU is ranked by Mayock as the fifth best quarterback in the 2011 NFL Draft, behind only Blaine Gabbert of Missouri, Jake Locker of Washington, Cam Newton of Auburn and Ryan Mallett of Jerry Jones' alma mater, Arkansas. Dalton threw for 27 touchdowns against just six interceptions for the Horned Frogs this year en route to a Rose Bowl victory for TCU. Mayock praised Dalton earlier in January for his make up and his "underrated" arm, expecting him to rise up on draft boards come April.

More on Mayock's other positional rankings after the jump.

Mayock has a few other Texas-based players in his top rankings. Baylor's guard Danny Watkins is ranked as the second best guard/center in the draft, behind only Mike Pouncey of Florida.

Von Miller of Texas A&M is rated by Mayock as the top outside linebacker prospect in the entire country, ahead of Akeem Ayers, Justin Houston, Bruce Carter and Chris Carter.

Texas Longhorns cornerback Aaron Williams is rated as the No. 3 cornerback in the entire draft as well, behind Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara, who is projected to fall to the Dallas Cowboys.
