Offensive Lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai Verbally Commits To TCU

TCU landed their second offensive lineman recruit for the 2012 class in Halapoulivaati Vaitai

The TCU Horned Frogs are seeing the recruiting benefits of moving from the Mountain West and on to the Big 12. TCU already has five verbal commits who are rated as four star players and that amount is the most TCU has received ever since recruiting services have starting tracking that information online.

The latest commitment for TCU came from offensive lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai (Haltom City, Texas) when he verbally committed to TCU on Dec. 18. Vaitai is rated as a three-star and chose TCU over Arkansas, Arizona, Houston, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech and Utah. So, Vaitai had plenty of heavy hitters offer him a scholarship.

Halapoulivaati had been committed to Texas Tech ever since last April and as recently as one month ago, but made the change to be a Horned Frog so that he could be closer to hom as did the move to the Big 12.

Offensive line is a big need for TCU in the 2012 class and Vaitai is only the second offensive lineman to commit to the school; the other is Chad Childs (La Grange, Texas).

TCU is now up to 19 verbal commits for the 2012 class.
