The TCU Horned Frogs defeated the Colorado St. Rams in a completely different way then the aerial attack they used to upset the Boise St. Broncos last week. This week TCU used its running game and a defensive touchdown on the afternoon to propel them to victory. The rushing attack was led by Waymon James who had 107 yards, Matthew Tucker had 94 yards and a touchdown and then Ed Wesley had 61 yards on the afternoon. The defensive touchdown came from linebacker Tank Carder who returned the interception 69 yards for the score.
Casey Pachall struggled mightily against the Colorado State defense by only completing 13-of-20 passes for only 116 yards and no touchdowns. Compare that to Colorado State freshman Garrett Grayson who was making his first career start and went 14-of-24 for 244 yards with a score and a pick.
Even though Colorado State out gained TCU 404 yards to 369 yards, the TCU defense made the stops when they needed to and did not allow Colorado State to get in the endzone and at times out of field goal range forcing them to punt.
This win gave TCU's seniors the most wins for a single class at 46 and surpassed the prior all-time mark that was held by the 2010 class.
