2011 Bowl Projections: Texas, TCU, Baylor, SMU Projected To Go Bowling

TCU has the six wins to be bowl eligible, but Texas, Baylor and SMU are all projected to make a bowl game this season.

The college football season inching toward November and there is enough of the season to attempt to predict what teams will go bowling and to which bowl game. The TCU Horned Frogs are pegged to go to the Las Vegas Bowl at this time and the matchup against the Boise St. Broncos could determine who goes to the Las Vegas Bowl.

The Texas Longhorns are sitting at five wins on the year and assuming that they get to six wins a New Year's Day bowl game is unlikely, but it would be an improvement over the 2010 season where Texas did not make a bowl game.

The SMU Mustangs are currently is sitting one win shy of being bowl eligible and they should earn that sixth win this season before the seasons end.

The Baylor Bears have lost three of their last four games and have four wins on the year and their schedule does not get much easier down the stretch with games against Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas; so Baylor will have their worked cut out for them to become bowl eligible.

Things will definitely change from now until the end of the season, and here are bowl projections for these teams:

MAACO Las Vegas Bowl, Dec. 22, 2011

TCU Horned Frogs vs. UCLA Bruins

Insight Bowl, Dec. 30, 2011

Texas Longhorns vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

New Ear Pinstripe Bowl, Dec. 30, 2011

Baylor Bears vs. Syracuse Orange

Ticket City Bowl, Jan. 2, 2012

SMU Mustangs vs. Illinois Fighting Illini
