TCU gets its time in the spotlight Friday night against BYU, as they play their former Mountain West Conference rival at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
After going 25-1 in the last two seasons, the Horned Frogs have fallen out of the top 25 in their last year before joining the Big 12. However, they are still undefeated in the Mountain West, as both their losses came in nail-biters against area rivals Baylor and SMU.
Sophomore QB Casey Pachall has emerged as a star, completing 69.7 percent of his passes for 1,566 yards while throwing 17 TD's and only 4 INT's. Somewhat surprisingly, it's the defense that has let Gary Patterson down, as the team's young secondary has been gouged for big plays in both their losses.
BYU, in their first year as a football independent, has rebounded from a tough 1-2 start, including a 54-10 loss to arch-rival Utah. The Cougars are riding a five-game winning streak fueled by a QB switch, with junior Riley Nelson taking over for Jake Heaps.
