2011 is shaping up to be a nice year for TCU quarterback Andy Dalton. First, he leads the Horned Frogs to a Rose Bowl victory on New Year's Day - not too shabby. Dalton will be entering this year's NFL Draft and NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock thinks highly of Dalton, predicting Dalton to be one of "fastest risers this spring."
↵Mayock praised Dalton's football intelligence as well as skill set, and likened Dalton's intelligence to Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers':
↵↵↵"Those are hugely important, because those are the kind of guys who end up winning games for you, and they're the type of guys who can take their game to a whole other level in the NFL. That's why I was so high on Matt Ryan three years ago, because of his football IQ and his work ethic. And it's the Aaron Rodgers type of quarterback. You know they're going to put in the work, and you know they have good football intelligence.''
↵
Mayock isn't directly comparing Dalton to Ryan or Rodgers - that would be unfair to all parties involved there - but he is definitely very high on Dalton.
↵Dalton will have ample opportunity to showcase his skill set and intelligence at various events throughout the spring, starting with the Senior Bowl next week.
