Texas A&M Vs. SMU Score Update: Aggies Lead Mustangs At Halftime, 20-0

The Texas A&M Aggies lead the SMU Mustangs, 20-0, after the first half of Saturday's game at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel was the star of the half, as he threw for 212 yards and a pair of touchdown, while also racking up 82 yards and a score on the ground.

Manziel, a fresman from Kerrville, Texas, found wide receiver Ryan Swope for a 29-yard score to get Texas A&M on the board just over six minutes into the second quarter. Then, after Dustin Harris returned a punt for 14 yards into SMU territory, Manziel broke off a 48-yard touchdown run to put the Aggies up by two scores. The ensuing extra point was blocked.

On the following possession, SMU quarterback Garrett Gilbert threw an interception on 3rd-and-long, giving the Aggies the ball back with two and a half minutes remaining in the half. Manziel would lead his team to another scoring drive, as he hit Uzoma Nwachukwu over the middle for a 26-yard touchdown. The Aggies' 8-play, 73-yard final drive took only a minute and 23 seconds off the clock.

The Mustangs sustained several injuries late in the second quarter, as Taylor Reed, Kevin Pope and Cameron Rogers all left the field during A&M's latest scoring drive.

Gilbert completed 11 of 26 passes for 79 yards, along with the interception. The Mustangs drove far enough to attempt a field goal at the end of the half, but Chase Hover missed the kick. SMU was outgained, 318 yards to 109, in the half.
