It didn't take long for new SMU basketball coach Larry Brown to begin throwing his weight around on the national recruiting scene.
↵Over the weekend, the school hosted twin guards Andrew and Aaron Harrison, two of the top recruits in the class of 2013, for an unofficial visit:

They were impressed enough to put SMU in their top 5. Their other four schools: Kentucky, Baylor, Maryland and Villanova.
↵Let's just say that Matt Doherty wouldn't be getting into recruiting battles with John Calipari for players of this caliber, as Brown's NBA pedigree has clearly already made an impact in how players view SMU, a school with almost no basketball tradition.
↵Both weighing in at around 6'5 200, they would instantly change the dynamic of the Mustangs basketball program if they committed. Of course, Scott Drew, John Calipari and Jay Wright are three of the best recruiters in the business, so Brown and his coaching staff will have a lot of work to do to close the deal.
