SMU vs. Tulsa: Mustangs only slight underdogs against Golden Hurricane

In each of the last five games between SMU and Tulsa, the under has been the winning bet.

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

Although the Tulsa Golden Hurricane is undefeated against Conference-USA opponents, the team is favored by only five points against the SMU Mustangs for Saturday's regular season finale, according to OddsShark. The main factor for that small spread could be the geography of the upcoming game, as it will be held at SMU's Ford Stadium.

The Mustangs have lost three Conference-USA games, including last Saturday's game against the Rice Owls and a game in early November against UCF. Each of those losses, though, were on the road, as the Mustangs have managed to remain undefeated at home in conference play.

The sole blemishes on Tulsa's record are a pair of non-conference losses to Iowa State and Arkansas. Each of those losses were on the road. In the last eight games against SMU, the Golden Hurricane is 2-6 against the spread.

Although each of the last five matchups between the two teams has made the under the winning bet, the over/under for Saturday's game is still set at a relatively-high 53 points.
