The SMU Mustangs have a tough test ahead of them in their final game of the season, facing off against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. They will need to win the Saturday season finale if they want to be bowl eligible, coming into the game with a 5-6 record. Tulsa has put together a solid season, with no Conference USA losses and a 9-2 overall record this year.
They had a chance to get that sixth win to earn a bowl berth in their last game, but couldn't hold off Rice in a lopsided 36-14 loss.
If SMU can pick up the win against Tulsa, they can pick up a bowl berth for a school record fourth straight season. They will have the advantage of playing the game at Ford Stadium, where they have gone 4-2 during the 2012 season -- the two losses at home came against Texas A&M and TCU early in the season. Tulsa has a respectable but not perfect 3-2 record away from H.A. Chapman Stadium.
